A National Industrial Court of Nigeria in Owerri, Imo on Tuesday adjourned to April 28,2017, a litigation Instituted by the Nigerian Union of pensions in the state, against governor Rochas Okorocha, the Account general, Attorney general and the head of service of the state.
The pensioners are challenging the state government's policy wherein they were asked to forfeit 60 percent of their pension arrears and gratuities by signing a form prepared by the government.
The matter which was ought to be heard for the first time suffered a minor setback when Osita Chukwuemeka, senior state Counsel, who appeared on behalf of the defendants told the court that he was served very late.

Awo – Omamma in the Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State, was thrown in panic as an officer of the Imo Security Network allegedly shot dead one of his colleagues, Chidi Onyenekwu , at a burial ceremony in the community.
The Imo Security Network is a state - owned security formation established by the state governor, Rochas Okarche , during his first tenure in office.

The Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha yesterday called on Nigerians to return to positive Nigeria's traditional family values, decrying the spate of family problems attributable to holistic adoption of western cultures.

Reports have it that that barely hours after the new Imo State Commissioner of Police, Mr Chris Ezeike resumed duties at the State headquarters, dare devil armed men have invaded Anara, Isiala Mbano local government and whisked away a former principal manager of Power Holding company of Nigeria, Benedict Kpaduwa, sending fears into the community.

The new Police Commissioner, Chris Ezeike, hails from Uga in Anambra State and has served in Rivers and Delta States, respectively and is coming after 7 years an Igbo born CP, Alloy Okorie left as the police helmsman in the state.
