The Office of the Senior Special Assistant to Imo State Governor on Entertainment and Public Affairs will on Monday March 13, 2017 hold a free SSCE/UTME workshop for candidates seating for the examinations in Imo State.

The workshop which is in partnership with the state Ministry of Education and Cambridge College of Advanced Studies is designed to expose students, candidates and participants to the new computer based short cut methods in calculation in line with the expectations of examination bodies in 21st century.

Less than 72 hours the end came for Nigeria's deadliest kidnap kingpin and serial killer, Henry Chibueze, popularly known as Vampire, his native doctor has been arrested by the police.
Chibueze, who had killed over 200 people in his criminal and kidnap escapades in the South East and South South Geopolitical zones was shot dead in the early hours of Thursday in the Ikwerre forest in Rivers state during a gun duel with the inspector general of police's special response squad.

Douglas Road , the commercial nerve centre of Owerri, the Imo State capital , was on Thursday thrown into confusion as policemen attached to a branch of First Bank clashed with an officer of the Nigerian Air Force , who was at the bank for a transaction .
Eyewitnesses told our correspondent at the scene of the incident that the clash started when the air force officer , who was said to be hospitalised , wanted to make use of one of the Automated Teller Machines on the bank premises, but was prevented from doing so by one of the policemen guarding the bank .

One month after his escape from the Imo State High Court in Owerri, a kidnap ringleader , Henry Chibueze , aka Vampire, has been killed by the police .
A gang member said to be Vampire ’s second -in -command , 26-year -old Obinna Elah, who hails from the Orlu Local Government Area of the state , was however , arrested in a joint operation carried out by operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team and the state police command.

Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere has called on parents to rally round their children to ensure they have good moral standing and cultural background in the society.

The Deputy Governor made the call yesterday while addressing the congregation in the Chapel of Praise of Anglican Communion at his country home, Achi-Mbieri, Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State.
