The leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, on Friday, said that the secessionist group will send the governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, back to Jos in 2019.

Kanu who spoke in Owerri when he visited the state with hundreds of thousands of his supporters insisted that there would be no election in Anambra State in November and in the other four South East States in 2019.

Ahead of the meeting of Okigwe Zone All Progressives Congress APC leaders scheduled for August 1, 2017 at Umualumoke Okigwe, Imo State, the country home of the Speaker Rt. Hon. Acho Ihim, prominent politicians from the Zone have spoken out against an inciting publications that purportedly had the speaker arrogating the powers of the APC Zonal leader to himself.

One of such politicians Hon. Chukwunonye Irouno a former Chairman of Okigwe Local Government Area and presently the Senior Special Assistant to Imo State Governor on Entertainment, said that the Speaker cannot contest the position with anyone, because as the number three citizen of the state and the fact that none of the Governor or the Deputy Governor hails from the zone, means he is number one in the zone.

Imo State House of Assembly is set to host members of State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria on September 20, 2017 as they push to have one voice on the quit notice given to the Igbo in the North by the Northern youths.

Speaking during an interactive session with some bloggers and journalist in Owerri, the speaker of Imo State House, Rt. Hon. Acho Ihim, said the move is to ensure that Nigeria remains one nation where everyone will be free to live in any part of the country. He further stated that they have the support of the governor to host the event which will make Imo Assembly pacesetters in the nation.

The Imo State Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere has charged 2017 corps members deployed to serve in the state to shun hate speech.
Madumere gave the admonition yesterday at Eziama Obaire, in Nkwerre LGA of the state during the official opening of the orientation course for the 2017 Batch A stream II, corps members deployed to serve in the state.

The Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha with other notable Nigerians yesterday bade farewell to late ace journalist of Channels Television, Mr. Chukwuma Onuekwusi.

Governor Okorocha through his Deputy, Prince Eze Madumere described late Onuekwusi as proud illustrious son of Imo State who won so much laurels to the State through his profession.
