The Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha of yesterday approved the immediate dissolution of his cabinet.
Also affected are the Transition Committee Chairmen of the twenty seven local government areas of the state.

In a statement signed by the Principal Secretary to Governor, Mr. Paschal Obi, the affected Commissioners, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants and the Transition Committee Chairmen were directed to hand over to the most senior Civil Servants in their respective Ministries Departments and Agencies.

The senator representing Owerri Zone in the Senate, Distinguished Senator Samdaddy Anyanwu has charged the people of Owerri Zone not to lose hope in Nigeria's democracy despite the challenges facing the system of government in Nigeria.

He noted that while it is natural for disappointed expectations to lead to despair and anger, the people of Owerri Zone and indeed Nigerians should not give up because democracy remains the best form of government all over the world.

Gunmen suspected to be armed robbers attacked the Imo State house of Assembly complex situated in Owerri, the state capital, carting away valuables, office equipment, electronics and other vital documents.
