Indigenes of Mbaise nation angling to be governor of Imo State in 2015 have been counseled  to jettison their ambition because the seat will not be vacant till 2019.
A chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Adauctus Odinakachukwu Onuoha gave the advice in an interview at the weekend in Owerri.
Chief Onuoha stated that persons including Mbaise indigenes who are aspiring to be governor should drop their ambition in their own interest because of the superlative performance of the incumbent governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha which he insisted was unbeatable.

Chief Onuoha who vied for the Ahiazu Mbaise Constituency seat at the state House of Assembly on the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in 2011 listed the achievements of the governor to include the planned construction of 25kilometres of road in each of the 27 local government areas, the distribution of uniforms to students and pupils; chairs and desks to schools and the construction of 27 brand new General Hospitals in the state.
He also mentioned other achievements such as the construction of Ahiajoku Centre, Commissioners’ Quarters and Heroes Square which he said were not achieved by any former governor of the state both dead and alive.
According to him, besides no past governor equaling this record, Imo people have not seen anybody who would break this record among the present crop of people from Mbaise and across the state jostling for the plum position.
The strong man of Mbaise politics averred that Mbaise people who are angling for the governorship seat could only stand a chance if Gov. Okorocha decides not to throw his hat into the ring in 2015.
He submitted that the merger which saw to the emergence of the APC was to provide a credible opposition to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), which he maintained has ruled Nigeria for 14 years without much to show for it.
Chief Onuoha advised Imo people not to see the APC as a Yoruba or Hausa party, stressing that the party is the answer to the yearnings of the Igbo people.
