Barring last-minute changes, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Caucus meeting is scheduled for Wednesday in Abuja.
The meeting, according to a statement by PDP National Director of Publicity, Chinwe I. Nnorom, is scheduled to hold at the Akwa Ibom State Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja, by 07:00 pm.
It also disclosed that the Board of Trustees (BoT) and National Executive Committee (NEC) are slated for Thursday, 8th September 2022, both in Abuja.
The statement read in part, “the PDP holds the following meetings: National Caucus – Wednesday, September 07, 2022, at the Akwa Ibom State Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja; by 07:00 pm.
“Board of Trustees (BoT) – Thursday, September 08, 2022, at the NEC Hall; by 11:00 am.
“National Executive Committee (NEC) Meeting – Thursday, September 08, 2002; at the NEC Hall; by 02:00 pm”.
Recall that the meetings were earlier slated for Wednesday, August 10, and Thursday, August 11, 2022, before it was postponed till further notice.
They were kept in abeyance over fear that a section of the party leaders loyal to Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike would use the meetings to sack the embattled PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, and propagate other interests of the aggrieved governors.
DAILY POST, however, gathered that part of the agenda for the meetings of the PDP organs is the campaign council, finance, and the state of the party.
A credible source, who is a member of the PDP BoT, told DAILY POST that the “NEC meeting will hold this week. The NEC will look at the Presidential Campaign Council, budget and finance for 2023 elections and other important issues”.
