President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with Sen. Kabiru Gaya, Senator representing Kano South District, over the death of his son, Sadiq, who reports said had died in suspicious circumstances.

Gaya, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), lost his wife, Halima, in May 2020.

Reacting, Buhari, in a statement by Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President, consoled Gaya and his family following the tragic incident and hoped that police investigations into the circumstances of Sadiq’s death would uncover the truth and lead to the prosecution of the culprits.

The President also mourned the demise of a prominent Kano community leader, Alhaji Bala Muhammad Tajudeen, whose son, Usman Bala, is the Head of Service and Acting Chief of Staff, Government House, Kano.

In commiserating with the deceased’s family, the President described him as a very disciplined and industrious gentleman who inculcated the values of hard work and patriotism in the children he left behind.

Buhari, however, prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased.
