The Cooperate Social Responsibility Committee of the Central Bank of Nigeria in Imo State has handed over a number projects to the state’s Police Command. 

The handover was done when the committee and the Branch Controller of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Owerri Branch, Mrs. Oruwari, O. Boma paid a courtesy visit to the the Commissioner of Police, Imo State, CP Mohammed Ahmed Barde on Wednesday 6th of September , 2023. 

The Police Commissioner and his management team, hailed the CBN CSR committee for the project, adding that it will further strengthen their already strong relationship.

CP Mohammed Ahmed  assured them of the Command’s maximum security as they go about their lawful businesses within and outside the CBN premises.

The CBN Branch Controller who presented the project on behalf of the CSR committee said that the items will further help  strengthen policing in the State. 

Accordingly, the Branch Controller presented the completed project to the Command on behalf of the CSR Committee, CBN Owerri.

The projets which  were commissioned by CP Barde, include; Civil and Architectural works to give the Command’s Legal department a facelift; New electrical Cabling and Fittings, Provision of office furniture – chairs, tables, and windows blinds.

Others are provisions of six computer desktop devices with printer, internet router and subscription; 3KVA power-backup Inverter with 4 battery providing a minimum of 48 hours, and maximum of 72 hour electricity supply. 

In a vote of thanks delivered on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, the OC Legal SP Bakura Umar thanked  the CSR Committee and entire staff of the CBN, Owerri Branch.

He said that the project has given the Command’s Legal department a new look, with modernized facilities to improve the quality of Police service delivery in the State.

Top officers present at the event inckude DCP Ukachi Peter Okpara, the DC Admin, DCP Hamzat A. Abdulkardir, the DC Operation, ACP David KOLO, the AC SCIID CSP Owochie Stephen, the OC Legal, SP Bakura Umar and ASP Okoye Henry, the Command’s PPRO.
