The Super Eagles of Nigeria have plummeted eight places to 44th in the latest FIFA men’s rankings, released Thursday on the global football governing body’s website.

Once sitting comfortably in 36th position, Nigeria now finds itself ranked fifth in Africa, trailing Morocco, Senegal, Algeria, and Egypt. The drop follows a challenging November, where the team managed a draw and suffered a loss in their international outings.

Morocco retains its top spot on the continent, while Senegal, Algeria, and Egypt complete the top four. The rankings underline the Super Eagles’ need to regain form ahead of future competitions.
