Dancer Ofoegbu Chibueze Precious aka Chiboy Sneh has revealed that he wants to take dancing as a profession and really wants people to look up to him because of how hard he has worked in the industry.
In a chat with www.otowngist.com, Chiboy Sneh said the in journey so far, he has found himself teaching and mentoring other dancers, all because he was able to beat the huddles of his early dancing days.
“I want dancing to put food on my table and also make others look up to me. I want to work hard in a way others will look up to me and take me as a mentor”
“So far I have been there for many of my colleagues; I teach them and as funny as it sounds, I often pray for them to succeed because I believe that is what a mentor should be doing for others who look up to him”, the Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education undergraduate said.
Looking back at his dancing career, the Okwudor Njaba LGA Imo State born dancer recalled that he used to beg for transport money to attend rehearsals and today he is grateful that all the hustle has paid off.
He hailed the impacts of Charmy Boy and Azonto Nasky in his life, saying that duo taught him most of the things he knows in dancing today and he is grateful to always find himself dancing alongside them in some occasions.
“One of my fondest dancing memories is dancing in the sitting room of Gov. Rochas Okorocha, during the wife’s birthday in 2016. It was amazing and I also recalled leading the largest group of Imo Contingent at the 2017 Calabar Carnival”
“Knowing I can make money from dancing now is amazing, but I feel bad when I see dancers doing stuffs that degrade them in order to find relevance.”
“Anyone who learns Shaku-Shaku for instance, now thinks he or she is a dancer and it is funny because it takes so much to be a dancer and packaging is one of them.”
“Going to bars to take N1000 is killing the industry in Imo State and until dancers refrain from this, we are going nowhere”, he said.
Chiboy Sneh who also reveals he has his own dance academy, DIL Academy (Dance is Life), said that aside dancing and education, the next thing for him would be playing football.
