A Peoples Democratic Party Chieftain, Mrs Esther Abba, has described the demise of the paramount ruler of Zangon Kataf, the Agwam Bajju, Mr Nuhu Bature, as shocking.
DAILY POST reports that the Agwam Bajju became the first monarch of the Bajju Chiefdom in Zangon Kataf local government area of Kaduna State after its creation in 1995, following the Zangon Kataf crisis of 1992.
In a letter of condolence to the immediate family of the deceased, Bajju community and the people of Kaduna State, Abba noted that the traditional ruler left at a time his fatherly advice was needed and the local government is going through its trying times.
She said, “The Agwam Bajju, Mr Nuhu Bature joined his ancestors at the time that the people in the local government are enjoying his advice following the insecurity that has befallen the area especially the Atyap Chiefdom with a view of ensuring an amicable resolution for the restoration of peace and unity among the people irrespective of any different.”
She added, “The death of our father, the Agwam Bajju has further shown us that are still alive to know that each one of us will return to his or her creator. We should therefore live in peace with one another knowing fully well everybody will stand and account for his or her deeds before God and so, we should evolve every possible way to ensure we all live in peace and avoid anything that will cost the loss of lives and property.”
She noted that the late Nuhu Bature was a peaceful man who did all he could throughout his leadership in Bajju Chiefdom to ensure peaceful coexistence among his subjects, adding that the Bajju people enjoyed peace throughout the period he led the people.
Mrs Esther Abba enjoined the people of Bajju land to see the departure of the paramount ruler as a time God has designed for his (Agwam Bajju) and pray for comfort in the lives of the people.
