All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA which was at some point in the history of Imo state seen as the next hope of the masses and this time Imolites might be going towards that direction if they get things right.

The party which has been marred in recent election by late defection from either PDP or APC will have to learn from their past mistakes to maintain a strong stance on their choice of candidate in the next general elections.

APGA which was floated as ‘Igbo Party’ have dominated politics in Anambra state but have failed to make a great impact in Imo since Senator Rochas Okorocha won his first tenure under the party.

Since then, the party has been rocked by controversies during elections as their tickets have been left for the highest bidders as was the case in the 2019 election when Senator Ifeanyi Araraume who lost in the PDP primary emerged APGA candidate overnight brushing aside a long list of aspirants who had earlier kept the party alive.

In a recent media briefing, the Imo State Chairman of APGA, John Iwuala said the party is ready to sack APC from the Government House.

“APGA has been reinforced and is ready to sack the APC from Douglas House in 2023 and defeat the PDP in the coming elections in the State”, he said, refuting rumours of alliance with APC or PDP in the state.

Alliances will always be inevitable in politics especially when it has to do with defected members and even when the party will always keep their arms open for ‘big’ politicians, they should also understand that some big fishes can spoil the pond.
