Former Manchester United star, Paul Ince has suggested that French star Paul Pogba would leave the club at the end of the season.

Ince said he cannot see the French midfielder staying at Old Trafford, advising Manchester United to make a move for Brighton’s Yves Bissouma to replace Pogba and Fred in the heart of their midfield.

Midfielders Fred and Scott McTominay have come under criticism in recent seasons and are singled out as potential weak leaks by fans and pundits.

The Red Devils are looking to spend heavily in the summer transfer market and Ince reckons Bissouma, who could leave Brighton at the end of the season, could be a cheaper alternative.

“You have to look at United’s recruitment,” he told Genting Casino.

“They didn’t know about Bissouma, now he’s at Brighton and might cost £40m. They didn’t know about [N’Golo] Kante, now he’s at Chelsea.

“All these players have been about but why have United not spotted them?

“They need to get someone like Bissouma because the midfield needs to change. Fred’s not the answer, McTominay is one of those who’s a good player but would be better with someone like Bissouma next to him.

“Is Pogba going to stay? I can’t see it. It’s not just about two midfield players,” Ince added.

The Red Devils’ struggles have continued despite the managerial change with some fans and pundits suggesting that the club’s hierarchy should have allowed acting manager, Michael Carrick to continue till the end of the season.

Carrick left the club after leading them to two straight wins and immediately after, Rangnick was confirmed as the interim boss.

Manchester United are faced with the huge task of beating Atletico Madrid in the round of sixteen of the Champions League to keep alive their only hope of winning any silverware this season.
