Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has approved the adjustment of official working hours in the public service for the holy month of Ramadan.

The adjustment was contained in a circular signed by Mohammed Nura, the State’s Head of Service.

With reference number GO/S/HOS/GEN/3/V.V dated 4th April, 2022, the with a heading, “ADJUSTMENT OF OFFICIAL WORKING HOURS DURING THE MONTH OF RAMADAN” was addressed to Chief of Staff to the Governor; Clark Yobe State House of Assembly; Secretary to the State Government; Commissioners as well as Chief Executives of Boards and Parastatals and Extra-Ministerial Departments among others.

It said Mondays to Thursdays, the official working hours are now from 8:00am – 3am, while on Fridays it will be from 8:00am – 12:00pm.

“The adjustment covers the month of Ramadan (Fasting) only and normal working hours will commence immediately after the month of Ramadan”, the circular noted.

The Head of Service, however, urged Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government to bring the content of the circular to the notice of all their staff for compliance.
