Port Harcourt based producer XpChux, has given his verdict on the level of entertainment activities in Owerri and Port Harcourt.
The Abia State born producer rated Port Harcourt 80%, giving Owerri where he visited recently to work with gospel music record label Kings Music just 50%.
According to XpChux, Owerri has made more of highlife hits than hip-hop and while the hip-hop artistes in Owerri still fuse highlife in their works, Port Harcourt has pure breed of hip-hop while the highlife artistes there are still doing their thing.
“On a hip-hop scale, Port Harcourt is way up there ahead of Owerri, and you can’t take it away. Music is different in both cities, but PH has built more than Owerri and the result is there with the number of stars we have produced in the industry so far.
I know it might sound a little controversial and unacceptable to some people in Owerri, but that’s my opinion and I believe it is true” He said.
Although rating Owerri as a highlife city will not be acceptable to some artistes in the city who believe they made enough mark to be known in the city and beyond , freedom of speech means XpChux is still entitled to his opinion.
