The Executive Members/Veterans of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Imo State
Chapter, were hosted by their parent Ministry.
The Imo State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism Engr. Alex Ogwazuo who received the Nollywood Artistes in company of the Management Staff of the Ministry, stressed on the need to partner with the Actors and Actresses in order to lift the State Tourism Sector to an enviable height.
Engr. Ogwazuo assured the Actors Guild of the preparedness of his Ministry to support their programmes at all times.
Contributing also, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Roland Madufor who emphasized on the need for Imo AGN to support the commercialization policy of the State Government, by including government taxes in their service charge while performing, also re-echoed the readiness of the Ministry to carry the AGN along in the scheme of things.
Earlier in his speech, the Chairman of Actors Guild of Nigeria, Imo State Chapter, Mr. Umez Chibueze Nnanna professionally known as Conac Umez, in his speech highlighted some of the problems facing the noble Association.
According to him, the problems are lack of office accommodation, lack of vehicle for easy mobility of members and fund to sponsor her members who will attend their forthcoming National Convention at Ekiti State and he appealed to the Ministry to come to their rescue.
In his vote of thanks, a Veteran Actor, Mr. Vitalis Ndubuisi thanked the Ministry for the warm reception and urged the Ministry not to fail the Guild whenever they request for support.
