As part of efforts to improve the services of the Imo Broadcasting Corporation (IBC), the state owned radio and television industry, Governor Rochas Okorocha has approved the immediate release of a 500
KVA sound proof power generating set to the corporation.
Announcing this at a forum with the management of IBC, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Chinedu Offor said the gesture would put a total stop to the problem of power failure which the Corporation had consistently suffered.
Mr. Offor restated the Governor’s desire and commitment to ensure that Imo Broadcasting Corporation occupies a place of pride in the broadcast industry. He added that the Corporation can now commence
twenty four (24) hours transmission and called for commitment of the staff. The information boss further disclosed that arrangements were being made to affiliate IBC to the Voice of America (VOA).
Reacting, Director General of IBC, Mr. Alex Nwahiri thanked the Governor for the gesture which he said would bring a stop to one of the major challenges facing the Corporation.s
