All roads will on Thursday August 23, 2012, lead to St. Peters Methodist Church Nigeria, Isiekenesi, Ideato South LGA of Imo State for the 15th annual youth Convention for Owerri diocese.
The theme of this year’s convention is the glory of the latter House (Haggai 2:9).
A released availed Nigeria Newspoint informs that the epoch making convention will last till Monday August 26, 2012.
According to the release, general election for the youths in Owerri diocese will also be held to pave the way for new executive to come on the saddle to contribute their quota towards the good of the diocese.
Speaking during a meeting held recently, the outgoing youth president of the diocese, Bro. Bright Onwuchekwa expressed his profound gratitude for the support given to him through out his stay as the president.
He urged the youths to pray for the smooth transition of power on August 24, 2012, hoping that the incoming executive members will be men and women of God who will work towards the spiritual and physical growth of Owerri diocese.
Adding his voice, the outgoing vice president of the diocese, Bro. Uzoma Chijioke Uzoma called on the youths to prepare themselves spiritually to receive Jesus Christ during the convention.
Bro. Uzoma who is also the chairman of Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the convention informed the youths that all necessary measures have been set rolling for the success of the Convention calling on all the Campers during the youth convention to be of good behaviours.
Meanwhile, in preparation for the forthcoming convention, the Orji, Circuit chapter’s combined worship has been fixed for Sunday August 19, 2012 at St. Silas Methodist church, Orji Owerri North LGA.
According to the president of the circuit, Bro. Chinedu Hardy Nwadike, the meeting will spur the circuit to prepare very well spiritually and for the competitions in the forthcoming convention.
Bro. Nwadike charged the circuit to get prepared by seeking the face of God without season in order to give a five Star performance during the Convention.
