A renowned Dj in Owerri, Dj Timberland has hailed the effort of Imo State based music producers for making sure that quality songs are delivered to the public at all times.
Dj Timberland who is also the President of the Imo State Chapter of DJ’s Association of Nigeria (DJAN), said this while speaking with www.otowngist.com in Owerri yesterday.
He reassured on the commitment of DJAN towards the development of the music industry in the state through the promotion of Imo State based artistes when they play in parties and clubs.
The Dj who said that the attitude on the dance floor inspires him whenever he is on duty, frowned on the attitude of some artistes who ignore Djs in Imo State for those in Lagos. He thus urged those who want to promote their songs through the DJAN in Imo State to go through the right channel, which involves visiting those in charge of such in the Association.
Tims as he is fondly called commended the recent growth in the entertainment industry of the state and hailed all who has contributed in any way towards this growth.
Speaking on the quality of artistes and their ability to compete with others in areas like Lagos, he said “There are artistes who can really compete and beat those in other states, all they have to do is take a better promotion approach for their song. There are others who are yet to differentiate nursery rhymes from lyrics of a song; these artistes are not helping the industry and until they are ready to improve, they will be dragging the serious ones backwards” he concluded.
