Red-cap police men searched thoroughly people at the gate prior to their entry into the expansive premises of the seminary to witness the epoch-making event.
Speaking at the event, Bishop Okpaleke described his appointment as the will of God. He urged the parishioners in Ahiara Diocese to cooperate with him.
He disclosed that he had rejected the appointment last year after the retried Pope Benedict XVII had proclaimed him bishop of the Ahiara Diocese.
He maintained that for the new Pope to re-appoint him is indicative of the fact that his appointment is the will of God.
35 bishops and several catholic faithful attended the consecration.
