Rap duo TK2 has cited passion and love as the reason for the strong bond between them.
The duo Ofeogbu Desmond (TRhymz) and Richard Ike (Ken D) started in their secondary school days at Federal Government College Rumokoro Port Harcourt, Rivers State has been together despite being in different universities studying different courses.
Speaking to www.otowngist.com, TRhymz said “We are together because we have been friends, and we have passion for music. Even when we have done our things differently, we are still together as one.
This is a lesson for people that the bond holding us together is more than music. We are just like brother now”
TK2 who has been unique in the kind hip-hop they do has never gone ‘commercial’ like most artistes who succumbed to the pressure of deviating to commercial hip-hop.
TRhymz also added that self belief, creativity and patience were among the qualities that made them unique in the industry.
“I have my style and I don’t have any plan of changing it. it’s same when Ken D is on the microphone, we just flow like TK2, keeping hip-hop and rap music real in our own way.
We are too busy to start thinking of who to copy because that will surely make us ‘WANNA BEs’ although we welcome those who want to be like us because TK2 is okay being TK2”, he added.
TRhymz spoke on their latest single, ‘We are blazing’, which is enjoying good air play within and outside Owerri, saying that it is another great work from TK2.
He thanked te fans who have believed in them so far, urging them to expect more.
According to him, distance has hindered some of their work, but soon they will be dropping songs like they are supposed to because university life will soon be over for them.
