D Figures; Gpec and Styleguy

Hip-hop duo, D Figures has denied using their news single, ‘Ndi Igbo’ to campaign for politicians.
The single which has its audio and video already playing in radio and TV stations respectively, has names of some prominent Igbo politicians mentioned in it.
According to the group which has Gpec and Styleguy, the song was an awareness call to the Igbo man all over the world.

“Igbo language is dying, the Igbo race is scattering, and there is no way we can unite abroad, we will always do it at home and the song is call for Igbo people anywhere they are to come and see what we can do to make our land better.” Gpec Said while speaking to www.otowngist.com.
On the alleged talk by some people in the city and beyond that the video is campaigning for a set of politicians in the region, Styleguy said, “Anyone has the right to see things in their own way, but I think it will be unfair to talk about a great race like the Igbo without mentioning current and past achievers from the tribe.
And it is so funny that people will start talking about just politicians because Jay Jay Okocha, Mikel Obi, Flavour, Phyno and other entertainers were mentioned as well, why can’t they say we are advertising footballers”
The duo who is based in Lagos said they had to use the track to get home and register their names as artistes of Igbo Origin.
They however said that they had to fuse highlife into the track to accommodate the tastes of the elderly people who are not too hip-hop friendly.
The audio and video of ‘Ndi Igbo’ will be released on Saturday, September 14, 2013 online for free download.
