The planning committee forĀ  Madonna University Alumni Association (MUAA) Awards 2013, has called on her members around the world to submit names of individuals whom they deem fit to receive the awards.

The committee listed six categories with one award for each which will be given to nominees with the highest ranking after their assessment on October 12, 2013 at at Ladi Kwali Hall, Sheraton Hotel Abuja where the award ceremony will be holding alongside the launching of the maiden edition of her magazine, MUAA Mgazine.
A statement by the committee has it that some of the awards will be will have only members of the associations eligible for them, while members of the public will be eligible in some other categories.
The categories and their descriptions are posted below and all nominations are to be detailed and sent to muaaawards@gmail.com on or before October 2, 2013.

1.Ā Ā Ā  MUAA LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Description
The Lifetime Achievement Award will recognise and promote individuals who have made significant and relevant contribution in their professional field. The nominee must have reached the highest professional recognition in his/her vocation.

Eligibility
The Lifetime Achievement Award is the association most prestigious award and must be given to an individual who has:

–Ā Ā Ā  an established history of distinguished professional service
–Ā Ā Ā  made a lasting contribution to the practice of his/her profession
–Ā Ā Ā  positively influenced his/her profession on a state, national or international level.
–Ā Ā Ā  Achieved the highest professional recognition in his/her professional career
–Ā Ā Ā  exhibited leadership and provided inspiration to others

The Lifetime Achievement Award is an individual award in recognition of a personā€™s outstanding contributions to his/her professional vocational field. These contributions may be a new innovation, new knowledge, or ways to improve professional practice or has obtained the highest recognition in his/her professional field.

Selection of the nominee is made on the basis of the candidate’s significant, fundamental professional contributions in research, leadership, mentorship, education, serviceĀ  or any other means. The lasting impact of these contributions to the sector; and the demonstration of a lifetime commitment to his/her profession.

2.Ā Ā Ā  MUAA LEADERSHIP AWARD

Description
This award will honour and recognize an alumnus who demonstrates exceptional leadership qualities. The nominee must have held leadership positions at national or state level.

Eligibility
The award seeks to reward members of the association that has sacrificed time in order to serve the association in different capacities. The award would be given to an individual that

–Ā Ā Ā  Has served the association in one of these capacities
i.Ā Ā Ā  National Officer
ii.Ā Ā Ā  Chapter Officer
iii.Ā Ā Ā  Served on a committee set up at national level

–Ā Ā Ā  Must be a member of the association and must be financially up to date
–Ā Ā Ā  Must have visible leadership qualities and inspire others

Nominees should have:
ā€¢Ā Ā Ā  made a positive impact on the association
ā€¢Ā Ā Ā  earned recognition from others for their services to the association
ā€¢Ā Ā Ā  Motivates and inspires the people around them to accomplish more
ā€¢Ā Ā Ā  Inspires a high level commitment from others when taking on new initiatives;
ā€¢Ā Ā Ā  Actively shares responsibility, authority, information and credit when working towards the achievement of a goal.

Description
The professional award will recognise and promote members, who though have not reached the pinnacle of their carrier, but have made a significant and relevant contribution in their professional field and has signs or promises that they could serves as role model for the younger members of the association
