The Imo State born producer said that most artistes are suffering at the bottom of the table in the music industry because they always choose to promote wrong songs, keeping the good ones locked in their computers and phones.
According to him, music goes with trend and when a particular trend is over, everything done in that area will become history.
“Yahooze trend came and it’s gone, Alanta came and we can’t find it today. We have everyone shouting and dancing Azonto and Etighi and I don’t see them being here in two years time.
Beats are gradually changing and everyone is learning the dance steps, when it becomes so rampant, people will surely clamour for something new, meaning that all the songs artistes are shouting ‘dance azonto, dance etighi’, will no longer be relevant in the industry.
The fact that some very good artistes in the state choose to release the wrong songs lives the best of Imo State hidden in computers”
Somik who put up a scene at the 5th edition of Deejay Saquo’s Star Nite, after falling flat on the stage when he came on cheer Floxy who was performing ‘Competition and I gat you’ which he produced, believes Imo State can still regain the glories of 2006 and 2007 when artistes from the state were making waves around the nation, if only artistes in the state will take up fresh promotional approach.
“It will also help the producers become known, because the whole country will surely hear the name of the producer in the song.
If they do it right, the best of the state will seen because to me, the country is yet to see the best of Imo State” He added.
