Imo State House of Assembly, has declared the Oru East State Constituency seat in the house vacant.
The speaker of the assembly, Rt Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu announced the vacancy Wednesday at the floor of the house.

The speaker cited a Court of Appeal judgment delivered in 2013 as reason for the action of the house.
Barr. Ken Njemanze had on July 8, 2013 petitioned the house asking the assembly to implement the judgment of the Court of Appeal delivered on May 10, 2013 which favoured Barr. Robert Okwuego, candidate of the PDP in the constituency in the 2011 election.
Meanwhile, Barr. Okemili was said to have appealed against the judgment at the Supreme Court.
