A group based in Owerri, Imo state recently made tremendous impact in the lives of some less privileged persons in the state.
The group who go by the name Giving Hope visited Orlu on the 26th day of April amidst rain which started about 6:50am. The team never allowed the rain to obstruct their project which they tagged ‘Giving Hope Project’. The project had volunteers from within and outside the south-east who gathered at the Giving Hope Project office, 49 Egbu Rd, Owerri where they set out with their materials which included 10 wheelchairs, 50 crutches, provisions, foodstuffs etc.
According to the project coordinator, Emmanuel Chukwu, it was more than an outreach because they entertained as well as ministered to the occupants of the establishment. They were accompanied by various comedians, gospel artistes and motivational speakers who made the less privileged persons very happy and inspired. Some of those who made the event a memorable one included Mc AsoRock (Zanders Fm) & Mc Steje (of Talkinson Entertainment), Pastor Kingsley, TOC-SAI, Ezeh Kelechi and SIMFLAY.
The project coordinator thanked their host for the warm reception and appreciated the matron for adequately taking care of them.
It was indeed a happy day for all who took part in the outreach and Emmanuel Chukwu revealed that the next edition will be on the 22nd day of May, 2014 & they will be reaching out to Prison Inmates &
Street Beggars.
