By Lady B Bless
Recorded over 8 years ago, when Mr. Ice’s producer Shy B felt it was a good idea for him to explore his vocal range. “Looking Out” is a tribute to good old fashion music, a time when artiste took the time to write a good song, songs that would last a lifetime and be sang over and over again. Going thru the track list, we find some oldies but goodies as well as some more modern day favorites.

With songs like “Just the Two of Us” “Aint No Sunshine” and “Lovely Day”, you are transferred if not physically but mentally to an era of smooth music by Bill Withers, Mr. Ice does not disappoint as I can honestly say that “Lovely Day” is one of the best cover I’ve ever heard. Moving on we have two of reggae great Bob Marley songs “So much Trouble in the World” and “Stir It Up”, Mr. Ice covers are smooth and effortless as you listen to “So Much Trouble in the World” you will forget that this is a Bob Marley song.
Song after song you will smile and sing along with this album then when you get to “My Number One” a song by the late great Gregory Isaacs, you will wonder to yourself where has this artiste been for the past 8 years. “My Number One” is a serious cover, delivered in a mellow, smooth and a bit of jazzy style, vocals are on point and the flow is so effortless.
Dion & The Belmonts recorded “Teenager in Love in 1959, Mr. Ice makes it sound as if it was recorded yesterday, another great cover is Michael Jackson’s “Human Nature” an excellent treat for fans of MJ.
Mr. Ice is a Roots Reggae Artiste born and raised In Montego Bay Jamaica, who started signing and recording music at young age of 13, his love for music was inspired by his father’s records collection, which was played throughout the home every day. He has already amassed a massive fan base in Germany & Italy when he has many hit singles; he is now in the USA. If this cover album was just to explore his vocal range, then this is an artiste to watch and follow.
