With Imo Got Talent Billed to hold February 28, 2014 before the CEO of the event met his untimely death on February 4, 2014 at the hands of gun men who are yet to receive the justice they deserved for the taking the life of the young man, nothing has been said if the event will ever hold again and I am so sure that the hopes of those took time to prepare for it have been hanging since then.
Imo Got Talent which was being packaged by Prince Noel Production owned by late Houston Texas based showbiz promoter, Prince Noel Emmanuel Unegbu should have been the biggest talent hunt show Imo State would ever witness if the event had actually taken place.
Having strong ties with Houston, USA based record label, Franco Records who are supposed to sign the winner should him or her be a musician as well as publicity by ARCANOVI Enterprise, owners of Afro Carib Radio; 3 month scholarship programme with International Modeling and Talent Association, New York USA and a movie role with Chima Movie Empire USA, the prizes are all mouthwatering especially when the concept of the event was to target the talents on the streets of Imo State and its environs.
The fact that the winner will be leaving the shores of Nigeria attracted many to the event which ended up hanging because of the death of the event’s inventor.
The question today is, where are the partners of Imo Got Talent?
Even though the running of the event was a one man show, with other partners helping out, I guess the team Prince Noel put up before his death, should start working on ways to revive the event because it will surely put smiles on the face of the late Akokwa born promoter where ever he is.
The government who were supposed to be his major partners should as well come in and see what they can do to carry on with the vision even if it means they will not carry his former partners along. They can get something better; something that lacks politics in it and one that will be organized for entertainers by entertainers and not by politicians for the children and relatives of politicians.
Imo got talent can still hold, all that is needed is a fulcrum who will be able to play Prince Noel role. This could be an individual, group or the government.
