Onuimo LGA born Special Adviser (SA) to President Goodluck Jonathan who is also the President of the Integrated Youth Empowerment Programme (IYEP) World Wide, Ambassador Obinna Adim, is set to take Imo politics by storm.
The youthful and internationally acclaimed global peace Ambassador and diplomat has eventually caved in to pressure from both International, National and Local quarters to throw his hat into the ring for the epic governorship battle of 2015 in Imo State. Sources very close to the Presidency, confided in Community Watchdog, that Ambassador Adim is being packaged for Igbo Presidency come 2019 but has to acquire the requisite hands-on-deck experience by starting as the Executive Governor of Imo State where he is expected to show-case his full capacity as an International Industrialist by attracting the now elusive Foreign Direct Investment to Imo State and help reduce the worrisome army of unemployed youths. Towards this end, Ambassador Obinna Adim has christened his campaign organization, “Ihe di iche” Campaign Organization aimed at offering Imo State the elusive but desirable revolutionary change that will be encompassing, complete and a drastic departure from what was the order of the day.
The Campaign Organization, “Ihe Di Iche’ was last Sunday October 5, 2014, inaugurated at the temporary headquarters situating at 29 Mbano Street Aladinma Owerri with Nze Ben Enwerem (Ukwuoso) as interim Director-General.
Other members of the “Ihe Di Iche” Campaign Organization are Ugoeze Millicent Okonkwo from Orsu LGA and wife to late Eze Prof. Okonkwo as State Woman leader and Comrade Obinna Nwoke, immediate past President of African Youth Parliament, as State Youth Leader. Also inaugurated were Engineer Augustus Ajawara a USA based technocrat as Orlu Zonal Co-ordinator, Honourable Chris Okoroji, Okigwe Zonal Co-ordinator and Hon. Daniel Nwachukwu for Owerri Zone.
Interestingly the “Ihe Di Iche” Campaign Organization attracted more support and attendance from Orlu Zone with almost all the LGAs in the zone presenting their co-ordinators for the inaugural ceremony when compared to Owerri and Okigwe.
Speaking while inaugurating his team, Nze Ben Ogueri Enwerem described his Principal, Ambassador Obinna Adim as the motivator whose time has come. Assuring that the ebullient gentleman is recognized for his outstanding selfless services to humanity whose election as Executive Governor of Imo State will place the state on a higher pedestral to attract the elusive Foreign Direct Investment such as the Blumberg Company he is already establishing for grain preservation. He paid glowing tributes Comrade Obinna Nwoke for initiating the entreaties and persuasions that culminated in the Special Adviser on Youth Empowerment to President Goodluck Jonathan, acquiescing to pressure and accepting to come and join the Imo Governorship race so that PDP would be saved the acrimony elicited by the insistence of Ex-Governor Ikedi Ohakim attempts to stop Senator Ifeanyi Araraume from becoming an Executive Governor in Imo State having asked him, “Nna gi Obu Onye Imo?
In his own speech, the Okigwe Zonal Youth Co-ordinator, Nze Chijioke Ekpulobi described Ambassador Obinna Adim as a religion who in his very youthful age has gone far and wide to earn empowerment and acquire power, yet is an epitome of humility. Ambassador Obinna he added, is working presently with no less than 18 presidents of different countries across the global which contacts are more than what is required to take Imo State to the Peak of International Politics, Commerce and Industry.
Speaking at the occasion also the state woman leader, Ugoeze Millicent Okonkwo a former Chairmanship Aspirant in Orsu LGA informed the participants at the meeting how she changed her initial resolution never to support any governorship candidate after an ugly experience with Rochas Okorocha, until she met and listened to Ambassador Obinna Adim. She explained that the aspiration of Ambassador Obinna Adim is the best thing that could happen to Imo State in these contemporary times, insisting that not only is he solid, “when power jams power, the lesser power will bow”.
Another Speaker, Chief Goddy Nwaneri, from Nkwerre said “it is God’s Divine will that Ambassador Adim will be Governor at his point in time”. Turning to the youths, he declared, “we are the change we want, we must take “Ihe Di Iche” as our own project, Imo State has suffered because the citizens never bothered about the background of former governors who ruled the state in the past, this time around, we are faced with an irresistible option which towers heads and shoulders above all others”. Others who attended the inaugural meeting of the “Ihe Di Iche Campaign Organization include Chief Aloysius Okorie (Hurricane), Hon. Jude Obijiaku, Rt. Hon. Morgan Obinna Abel, Jude Udogu, Anokwute Paschal, Hon. Aham Nwosu etc.
