With Fado tweeting on the 17th that he does not want to be part of the award after claiming that he was added to it without his consent.
Regis came up latter with the same claim asking that his name be removed as well. Although he is yet to make a public statement with regards to this, in a phone call to Hardy, he claimed that being nominated for the award is not helping his name which has become a brand and the same was the case with OB Fado who buttressed his exclusion with the same claim.
Reacting to this, CEO Otown Gist Entertainment, Mr Chinedu Hardy Nwadike said “I am very sure we notified every nominee in their categories and I am sure they are aware of their involvement in the polls. Owerri is a small city and that makes every major player in the industry close to each other but this development is not as unfortunate as it seems because the names in question are still their’s.
Votes to Fado and Regis will thus be counted as invalid and they are no longer part of the polls”
Speaking further, Hardy called on entertainers in the state to imbibe humility in everything they do because it is one sure way to success.
He said that the entertainment industry is governed by Ecclesiastic chapter 3, because there is time for everyone.
“There is time for me to trend and there will be another time for others, if I don’t understand this, I will end up chasing echoes when the ticking of the clock has passed me.
A humble character lets you raise a team that will do more exploits than you. You can only reap from the future in your humility, if you were able to empower some talents but for those who are gods today, they will be forgotten tomorrow, when there will be no need for gods” He added.
Voting in Otown Gist Personality of the Year polls will be ending on October 24, 2014 by by 12:00 am.
