According to Mr. Fruitz who has been touring with the Tour De Magnific team, it is a lovely thing for people to see you and call you Rick Ross, but the worst will be going on stage with nothing to show for it.
“At times I get so worried about the whole thing because it puts me under pressure to perform. I am easily noticed and even though it is an added advantage for my musical career, it also means that any simple mistake I make will be noticed instantly.
Severally in taxis, buses and on the street people have called me Rick Ross and I have grown to enjoy it because at the end of the day, I did not make myself the way I am. God gave me the size and looks so I have to make good use of it in any way I can” Mr. Fruitz said.
Speaking further, Mr. Fruitz said that he has never wanted to grow up in the shadow of any made man pointing out that he has done as much as he can to distinguish his style of music from that of the USA based rapper.
“He is known as a hardcore rapper and even though I can toe that path, my talent has manifested mostly in singing and that makes me different.
He is very different still because I haven’t got a single tattoo and don’t think I am ready for that as well as taking pictures with my clothes off.
My looks are like the strength I need for the next leg because where others have failed to gain attention, I get it by just passing and that has made me to be very careful with what I do any where I find myself.”
His last single, ‘Ifeoma’ has given him a big lift and he claims that he is still working towards sinking the song further into the hearts of people around the country and beyond.
