The concept of Black Poetry discusses the necessity for the black man to be more aware of himself as a contemporary brand. It tends to stimulate the consciousness of blackness as a virtue and not a vice with a combination of music and the power of the spoken word in a very simple language.

The truth is that modern day slavery is played out on the mental field with shackles unfortunately accepted by the black man himself, usually at the expense of his own identity whereby western values are often in preference over his own values. Thus, he consciously or unconsciously plays the victim. Therefore this project throws the keys again to the lone man in the desert of ideas hoping he can emancipate himself.
Stan Aneto has spent most of his creative years advocating for environmental rights and protection for adversely affected communities in the Niger Delta of Nigeria. Through loads of songs, poems, photo arts and films, Stan has entertained his fans without leaving them with some thoughts to brood over. His works are conscious but entertaining and his style is a blend of Afro-ethnic and pop even though there is really no confinement for him in expressing himself.
Stan will be taking his audience on a behind the scene tour of his Black Poetry video while explaining in details how the film was shot and the challenges the crew had to deal with during the making. It will also acknowledge the efforts of known and unknown Pan Africanists like Mandela, Steve Biko, Fela, Soyinka, Zik etc, in the push for Black Awareness. The bottomline of this project is to portray being black as beautiful, powerful and worth celebrating as hues and shades are impossible without the color black which is the mother of all colors.
The Black Poetry screening will be an opportunity to hook up with Stan Aneto and several media agencies like NTA, TVC, CHANNELS TV, MUSIC AFRICA, THE NATION NEWS PAPER and several online bloggers. It will also feature sensational act, Ebele the Flutist among other Nigerian celebrities and spoken word acts.
