A release from the Secretary General of Imo Contemporary Musicians Association, Goodtims Opara aka G-Tims has it that the meeting of the association which has been on hold for a while will kick off soon.
G-Tims who spoke to www.otowngist.com apologized to members of the association whose hope has been kept hanging for promising that the association is not dead and will take off again like before.
He pointed out that ICMA has proven that they can really make a difference in the music industry of the state going by their recent marks, especially the role they played during the carnival.
“Nobody gave us the chance to show what we can do, no one believed we would go beyond the days that has past. Everyone thought we would have packed up by now but we are still here kicking.
The executives are working hard every day and even though there hasn’t been a general meeting recently, the excos have been meeting to see that the foundation of the association stays intact.
There have been several factors preventing the meetings from holding but soon it will be a thing of the past and everything will be normal again”
He also enjoined members of the association to disregard talks from anti-ICMA artistes who are going about saying that artistes in the state can never be united because of the complexity in believes amongst artistes.
He called on artistes in the state to believe in change with on mind, saying that time has come for everything to change in the state.
