The St John’s Methodist Church in Orji circuit, Diocese of Owerri has marked her 2014 Annual Harvest on 16th of Nov 2014. The harvest with the theme “Harvest of Reality” was held in the church premises at No 9 Mbonu Ojike Street, Ikenegbu Layout Owerri, where issues that where affecting humans in this end time was tackled. The different way which the devil uses to lure children of God to his side was stated and ways to curb it was also mentioned.
In the sermon, the minister in charge of St John’s Methodist Church, Rev. Anthony Agbo charged people to believe in God always, saying that no matter how smart the devil can be, he does not know how God wants to implement his plans for his children, adding that it is now left for the children of God to decide if they really want to miss out from what God has in store for them. He further said that although being like a hungry lion, looking for whom to devour, the reality of life is that the devil at times while trying to deal with Christians unknowingly leads them to the promise land that God has prepared for them.
In his opening remarks at the bazaar, the harvest chairman, Barr. Chuks Onuorah, hammered on the act of cheerful giving, enjoining members to have a spirit of giving without hesitation, assuring them that in like manner God’s blessings will be showered on such ones without hesitation.
In memory of late Mr. Philip Amaefula, a member of the harvest committee, who died after a brief illness, the church observed a minute of silence, after which the minister, Rev. Anthony Agbo consoled the family and prayed that God will give the entire Amaefula family, their friends and St John’s Methodist Church the fortitude to bear the loss of the deceased who will be buried on 5th of Dec 2014, at his home town, Isiekenesi in Ideato South Local Government Area of Imo State.
