Comedian cum Zanders FM On-Air Personality, MC Ominimini and the Kings Music Entertainment crew will be leading a host of entertainers and friends on an anti-election violence march on Saturday, January 31, 2015.
A spokesperson for Kings Music Entertainment Services, a gospel music record label based in Imo State, Cjay Okonkwo said the aim of the march is to sensitize the public on the need to shun election thuggery and violence at the forthcoming general election.
Cjay who is also the producer of the label said the sensitization march is necessary now especially while looking at the way the political scene is boiling.
“People would want to do anything possible to win, but they can’t achieve this if youths especially can turn down their offers to work as thugs during the elections.
We deserve credible election and we can only achieve this when violence is put behind us” Cjay said.
The duo of Mr Kyze and Cruz who are the official artistes of the label have been lending their voices to the movement, calling on their friends to join in the march to make it a success.
MC Ominimini who is known for his afternoon pigeon English programme at Zanders 107.5 Owerri has also been using every means possible to mobilize for the march and he told us that he is looking at thousands of youths joining in the movement.
“We have gotten an approval from the police and the state Police Commissioner is very much in support of what we are doing. So we call on everyone who believes we can have a good election free from violence and thuggery in Nigeria to join us” He said.
The hash tag ‘#SayNoToThuggeryAndElectionViolence’ has been launched on the social media ahead of the march will be kicking off on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Cherubim Junction, Wethedral Road, Owerri, Imo State by 9:00am.
