The Orluzurumee Youth Assembly has dissociated itself from the rampant manner self acclaimed leaders of the apex socio-cultural organization in Orlu Senatorial zone are going about endorsing different candidates for the Imo governorship election now rescheduled for April 11, 2015 and other elective positions.

This development was expressed by the National President, Comr. Precious Nwadike who spoke to the press at the end of the debate programme organized by the Orlu LGA Chapter of the Assembly which was held at Orlu Hotels Ltd. Asked to comment on the spate of endorsement of different candidates by various factional leaders of the organization, Comr. Precious Nwadike explained that all those who have claimed leadership of Orluzurmee are political jobbers who are seeking relevance all to the detriment of the generality of the people of Orlu Senatorial zone. Continuing, Comr. Precious Nwadike said that Orluzurumee Youth Assembly is not ignorant of the fact that Orluzurumee has been split into four parallel factions with one headed by Chime Nzeribe, endorsing Governor Rochas Okorocha, the other led by Emeka Diwe has also endorsed Captain Emma Ihenacho while Chief MacDonald Akano has so far endorsed Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha as the Governor of Imo state.
Meanwhile, Chief Reuben Okoro, another factional President of Orluzurumee who even arrogates to himself the authentic leader by virtue of his driving the official vehicle of the organization is still negotiating for whom to endorse. According to Comr. Nwadike, these factional political leaders who can do anything for money do not have the mandate of the people and can hardly boast of any appreciable support from the electorate hence their endorsement is meaningless. They have also lost the credibility and capacity to speak for and unbehalf of the Orlu electorates hence the unsuspecting governorship candidates should avoid being deceived by their antics.
Speaking further while drawing inference from the debates organized by the youths, Comr. Nwadike expressed hope with the youths for initiating a democratic process of choosing the best out of all the contestants as evidenced from the debate organized on the 24th of January 2015 at Ihioma Civic Centre. He announced the setting up of the Orluzurumee Youths Assessment Committee (OYAC), to come up with their recommendation on who should be endorsed for the governorship, senatorial and other elections. This however will wait, until the various LGAs round up their debates, he stated.
He further urged the youths to be proactive especially in choosing who represents them since they constitute majority of the voting population and not the self-acclaimed leaders and wondered why Imo youths are scared of dying for good governance even when politicians have made lives difficult for them and their families.
Finally, he commended all the House of Assembly candidate who answered to the youths of Orlu L.G.A, stating that, it is an indication that they have regards for the youths.
