As women around the world marked Mother’s Day on Sunday, March 15, 2015, they have been urged to see that they build good and strong foundations in their homes, churches and communities.
Lady. Precious Chukwu made this call during the Mother’s Day Celebration at St. Silas Methodist Church Orji Uratta, in Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State, which is the headquarters of Orji Circuit in the Diocese of Owerri.

Mrs. Chukwu who is the wife of the circuit Presbyter, Very Rev. E. O Chukwu and the President of Methodist Women Fellowship in the Orji Circuit, described women as the tool that builds the home, charging them to live up to expectation always.
She said that the only way they can achieve a happy home is when Jesus Christ is the rock upon which their foundation will be built and that any woman who puts Jesus Christ first will never be put to shame.
She called on women around the world to stand up and take their pride of place in being the agents of change in the changing world rather than sit down and watch while it changes.
The service at St. Silas Methodist Church was garnished with special songs and drama by the women as the investiture of ‘NneNkeOkwukwe’ [Mother of Faith] title on some deserving members of the fellowship was conducted.
Responding, the recipients of the ttiles, pledged to live up to the hunour which has been done to them while also praying for the grace of God to sustain them.
Meanwhile, at St John’s Methodist Church in Orji Circuit, the preacher for the day Mrs. Anthonia Madu said women are the basic sweeteners of a home adding that wherever there is a good woman, there is a happy home.
Mrs. Madu however, urged women to make Jesus Christ the pillar of their life so as to live up to the Methodist Conference theme ‘Aglow with the Spirit’.
She called on women around the world to set good examples in whatever they do and to always take their problems to God in prayers, rather than go about talking to their friends who will end up not helping them.
