In a statement made available to newsmen in Owerri, the Chairman of the youth movement, Greg Okwuozo expressed shock and disappointment that instead of remaining with the party (PDP) that have over the years assisted to consolidate democracy in the country and acquired fame and credibility as the largest political party in Africa, these chieftains of the party, who are expected to assit in providing effective opposition only chose the inglorious part of defection.
Okwuozo, a lawyer described as most unfortunate and shameful the actions of some politicians as Sen Ifeanyi Araraume, Jerry Chukwueke and Humphrey Anumodu who ascended to limelight on the platform of the party only chose to bite the finger that fed them on the heels of the Presidential election, dismissing them as hypocrite and false prophets in sheep”s clothing who should never be entrusted with leadership positions.
The Youth Movement alerted the good people of Imo State to be weary of the ongoing unholy alliance between Governor Rochas Okorocha and Sen Araraume, who struck a deal with the two term Senator of Imo north(Okigwe Zone) to hand over power to him in 2019.
This, the movement said has provoked the recent massive support of the Senator to the Governor, to the detriment of the PDP that nurtured him and brought him to political limelight in the country.
The Movement therefore advise Nigerians, especially Imo electorates to beware of such politicians as Sen Ifeanyi Ararume, Jerry Chwukueke and others who change colours at whims and caprices as the Gameleon to achieve their selfish interest.
The youths who equally denounced the defectors as APC moles in the PDP, advised Nigerians to be careful and the circumspect in their dealings with such unreliable, undependable and untrustworthy politicians who parade themselves as democrats but are bereaved of basic ideologies.
However, congratulated the President elect, Maj Gen Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) on his success at the polls, but enjoined him to ensure that his anti corruption crusade does not entertain any sacred cow in society, no matter how highly placed.
Also speaking, the Publicity Secretary of the group, Nze Jude Mezie called on security agencies in the state to demonstrate stronger patriotism in the performance of their duties during the forthcoming supplementary election and to stick tenaciously to orders and directives from the Presidency since President Goodluck Jonathan is still In charge of the nation security.
They warned that, any security personnel found wanting in the discharge of his duties should be seen as a dissident and therefore discipline as such.
They advised all members, supporters, friends, and faithful of the party to remain steadfast and committed to the principles and ideologies of our founding fathers and not be demoralized by the shameful conducts of fair weather politicians who capitalize in an unexpected ugly environment.
