A social critic and Mayor of Imo youth as well as the running mate to the governorship candidate of the United Progressive Party (UPP) in the recently concluded elections Professor Protus Nathan Uzorma has thanked the youths of Imo state for their support to him throughout the election and has declared his intention to support the presidential ambition in 2019 of the incumbent governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha who has been re-elected if he performs well during his second tenure.

Addressing a press conference at the Newcastle hotel Owerri yesterday Prof. Uzorma contended that Owerri politicians have killed the much toubted zoning arrangement in Imo state arguing that all the Owerri governorship candidate were given the opportunity to choose a single one amongst themselves for adoption but they could rather engaged in an in-fighting even when Orlu was strongly agitating at speaking for them. He said that on his past he worked hard to see that Owerri produced a governor but the people were divided arguing that the people were divided arguing that the governorship election in Imo state was neither free nor fair as he accused the APC candidate of buying people and importing result sheets from the North. He said Owelle was ready for the elections, and capable of doing anything even the sinister in order to win.
He gave the indication that he would challenge the result of that election in court arguing that if it was not manipulation his principal Dr. Osmond Ukanacho of the UPP could not have lost in Ikeduru local government area adding that those who were sincere are going to court to seek for justice. He stated that Dr. Ukanacho was the best candidate in that election.
Professor Uzorma called on the winner of the April 25 election Governor Rochas Okorocha to ensure that he utilizes his second tenure to solidify his free education policy ensuring that Imo Schools have enough English and Mathematics teachers while JAMB and WAEC examination should be made free for Imo candidates as part of the free education programme.
He urged the governor not to neglect the youths and artisans of the state suggesting that the school materials being brought from outside Nigeria should hence forth be made here in Nigeria as a way of engendering opportunities employment and money circulation for the people.
In answer to a question, Prof. Uzorma declared that he will not be willing to take up any appointment in the Rescue Mission Government. The professor who had earlier congratulated the governor on his victory stated that he would always stand up to give a voice to the youths who he represents.
