Following the dismissal of the petition filed by the governorship candidate of the People Democratic Party, PDP, in the state, Chief Emeka Ihedioha at the Election Petitions tribunal, the Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has called on the PDP candidate and other chieftains of the party in the state to collaborate with him in his honest desire to make Imo a state to be proud of.
The Governor described the verdict of the tribunal as victory to all Imo people irrespective of their political affiliations, and also commended Chief Ihedioha for his effort.
Owelle Okorocha remarked that by okaying his victory at the April 2015 governorship election, the Election Petition tribunal only affirmed the renewed mandate Imo people had given him.
The governor noted that Chief Ihedioha never did anything bad by challenging his victory at the tribunal but rather exercised his constitutional right as a citizen of the country and reminded him that there should be an end of every contest.
The governor whose message is contained in a release by his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Sam Onwuemeodo thanked Imo people for their prayers and appealed to them not to relent in that regard.
