Having spent five days in the presence of God, the 30th Annual Women’s Fellowship Conference of Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Owerri, came to an end on Sunday, September 6, 2015. The event which was hosted by Orji Circuit at St. Silas Methodist Church Orji Uratta, in Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State, saw the women participate in series of activities ranging from spiritual, physical and social events. In an address to welcome the women to the circuit, the host presbyter, Very Rev. E. O. Chukwu said that Orji Circuit is honoured to host the diocesan Women Fellowship adding that the circuit’s track record of success in conventions and conferences at all levels should be a motivation to the women especially those from the circuit. He urged the women to reflect more on the theme of the conference ‘Women aglow in the Lord’ so as to leave the conference as better home and nation builders.
In his address to the women at the plenary session held on Saturday, September 5, 2015, the diocesan bishop, Rt. Rev. Dennis O. Mark charged the women to walk intimately with the Holy Spirit so as to show all virtues that Christian mothers are known for.
“To aglow with the Spirit means to walk in close intimacy and association with the Holy Spirit. It connotes earnestness, dedication, radiance, zeal and commitment as products of inner working of the Holy Spirit.
“I urge you as children of God, to endeavor to be filled with the Holy Spirit always. As you walk in obedience to the word of God, while yielding to His guidance, your lives will keep aglowing and shining to the Glory of God”, he said.
Bishop Mark however, commended the dedication and commitment of the women fellowship to the work of God in the diocese which they have shown in their various activities. He then urged them to still do better since it is the only way to ensure that the work of God and the church moves on.
Also speaking at the plenary session, the chairman of the occasion, Sir Ambassador Moses Eziokwu appreciated the women on their efforts in rebuilding and repositioning of the church, pledging to partner with them in their quest to purchase a bus for evangelism in the diocese.
The president of the Women’s Fellowship in the diocese and the wife of the Bishop, Nneoma Precious G. Mark in her address appreciated everyone who contributed to the success of the conference especially the host circuit who did well in making all the needed facilities available for the convention.

She urged women to always do well in supporting their husbands, especially in difficult situations directing them to always pray for their fellow women especially those in power.
Nneoma Mark decried the level of decay in the society especially in the area of social vices and Boko Haram insurgence. She urged women to always go on their knees to pray for youths and Nigeria at large.
“It is therefore the duty of mothers to always build the moral standard of their children and speak out when things are getting out of hand. Therefore, I urge that they engage themselves in profitable ventures such as craft work in the absence of the white collar job” She said. In other activities that took place in the conference, the host Orji Circuit came first in March Pass, while Agwa Circuit and Orlu Section came second and third respectively. The convention which started on Wednesday September 2, 2015 came to an end on Sunday, September 6, 2015 after a thanksgiving service at St. Silas Methodist Church Orji who played host to the women.
