One of the leading fashion designers in the South-East and South-South zones of Nigeria, ‘GHOZcouture’ last week launched an electronic show room for their outfits.
The website, www.ghozcouture.com, which started full function last week, according to the CEO of the firm, Mr. Grant Chigoziri Barnabas, will offer people all over the world the opportunity to see what GHOZcouture stands for in the fashion world.
The unisex award winning designer said he is taking designing to the next level adding that it is high time designers from around the region stopped playing as local designers.
“If we can reach the world, we are no longer local designers. If our designs can win awards outside our states and earn nominations outside the country, we are no longer local so the best thing is to play like the big boys.
“People around the world are wearing our designs and others are also demanding for our winter jackets made of African fabrics. The fashion world is a fantastic place to be and I am so far proud of what we have achieved, looking back to where we started”.
Mr. Grant however frowned at the negligence and lack of respect for designers in this part of the world, saying that it is so unfair.
“It is really unfair for people to praise the model and not the designer. Without us, the models would just be in an Adam and Eve era.
“We should be given the respect we need because it is the only thing that will spur most of us into doing more. I know it is a battle we have to fight but someday, we will surely overcome”, he concluded.
www.ghozcouture.com will display some of GHOZcouture’s exclusive designs, fabrics and accessories for prospective customers. People can pick designs and then place orders for them to be made for them.
