The Imo State Chapter of Actors Guild of Nigeria [AGN] has suspended some of its members for what it referred to as Anti Guild involvements.

A message which was being spread on social media by members of the guild, alleged to have been signed by the state chairman, Mr. Umez Chibueze Nnanna professionally known as Umez C. Conac reads: “Notice to all Imo AGN Members! The following members are now suspended from the Guild for Anti Guild involvement: Chikodi Nwafor (Mopol), Chucks Christo, Okey Anozie, Ogali E. Ogali, Apostle Clin, Ogwa Na Ogwa, Tony Chikere, Impi Amarachi and two others no AGN member and entire Nollywood should have anything to do with them in the name of the Guild. Sign: Umez C. Conac, Imo AGN chairman”

Although there were no details on the nature of the offence committed by the suspended members, the suspension is seen as the return of conflict in the state’s chapter of the guild.

It will be recalled that years back, some of the suspended members were involved in a factional fracas with Mr. Umnez’s lead executive before Imo State governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha came to the rescue of the guild by helping them settle the rift.

None of the suspended members have commented on the issue and Mr. Umez C. Conac’s line was not reachable when we called to confirm the news but our source still have it that there is a looming conflict in the state’s AGN.
