Come Friday February 12, 2016 at the Auditorium of Imo State University [IMSU] Owerri, one out of the 29 contestants will be crowned Most Beautiful Face in IMSU [MBFII] 2016 edition.
The event which is being packaged by the campus based blog www.myimsu.com will also see some distinguished members of the society and IMSU be awarded for their developmental contributions in different works of life.
According to the CEO of www.myimsu.com, Mr. Anaturuch Iroapali aka GreenBrain, the pageant was initiated to promote beauty, morals and the image of the institution. He regretted that most ladies were skeptical about the event but is glad that things are going according to plan and those who signed up for it will never have anything to regret at the end of the day.
“The winners will emerge from voting and results from the judges at the grand finale and MBFII is more than a pageant as it goes a long way in empowering the girls through skill acquisitions; participation in social responsibility works and exposure to a bigger state in the entertainment industry. They will also be involved in photo shoots and tours aimed at raising funds for charity.
“With this structure, every contestant is a winner as they will be walking home with priceless skills that can see them through in life.” Anaturuchi said.
With the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Adaobi Victoria Obasi as the Chief Host,
Imo State Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere (MFR); Secretary to the Imo State Government, Sir Jude Ejiogu; Imo First Lady, Her Excellency, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha and the Chief of Staff to Government House Owerri, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu are among those to be honoured at the event.
Others are Hon. Deac. Chike Okafor, Mrs Chike Okafor, Justice Ogadinma Agada, Chief Kennedy Zanders, Imo Deputy Speaker, Honourable Ugonna Ozuruigbo (OZB), Professor Okee Okoro, Hon Sunny Ibekwe and Rev. Fr. Professor Phillip Ogbonna.
A former Vice Chancellor of IMSU, Prof B.E.B Nwoke, Prof J.N.B. Nnadozie, Mr A.C Duru, Mr. IK Ogbonna, Mrs Solace Alagboso, G.T.C Samuel, Mr Ikechukwu Anyanwu and more will also be honored at the event, which will be graced by former and reigning beauty queens and kings in the country as well as other celebrities.
The event will be kicking off with a Green Carpet by 12:00pm on Friday February 12, 2016 at the IMSU Auditorium and it is expected to be a memorable one.
