The desire for fame come in different packs, and while some are dreaming to be the biggest entertainers, others are dreaming to be the ones controlling the entertainers; the politicians.

Fame can come through academic pursuit, although that one is no longer in the list of what every Nigeria child desires in the morning when he wakes up. They want to be on TV with convertible cars, beautiful women and in most cases, no one asks where the money will come from. They just want to be the ones spending the money.

People are so engrossed with becoming famous that they end up losing everything and this is why most famous people look frustrated at advanced age. The guys are always busy enjoying all the free girls that make passes on them; taking pictures and visiting places that would not even change the story of their lives. Some who are married are so stuck in cheating on their wives that they think it is the only way they could be happy.

Alcohol, drugs, travels and women become the only thing you desire until the same public who were celebrating you forgets you to rot alone.

It is always painful to hear friends and families of celebrities whom we considered very successful, begging for public donations at the death of these famous people. Why can’t they just throw a flamboyant burial ceremony like one business man in Onitsha market? What happens to their money?

Young entertainers have never cared to ask why people are mostly disappointed with celebrities when they die. No one wants to learn from the dead, they just want to die and become another dead man’s story.

When you calculate the amount of time you spend on playing smart on about five girls in one day, you would realize that you should have done something better if you really had one of them who supported you.

I have tasted a little fame till now and no matter how much people celebrate me, I still want to be just a guy living his dream. The girls have come, I have seen the alcohol and all of it but had to quit because till date no one has completely understood how King Solomon managed all the women in his life without being distracted. The number one thing women need is time and the last time I checked, no one has it. Most men spend the little they have on women, wastefulness and activities that will count to nothing when they are no longer in this world.

Fame does not stop a man from loving his wife, it does not stop a man from living a simple life in a simple world. Fame does not brew obsession for the wild wild world; it does not damage the soul of a man, but it can take it away from him.

HAVE YOU READ?:  Is he my father?

Politicians, pastors, entertainers and even hunters at the villages desire it, but mark my words, fame does not steal your soul when it is with you, it takes it along when it leaves you. When you walk the streets and everyone sees you as an ordinary man, when your beauty and swagger must have been washed away by age or some kind of mistake you made. When relevance must have wiped your name from it’s list.

I just imagine how crazy some celebrities are when they talk about their privacies. When you embrace fame, you start living in a transparent house, where the slightest quarrel in your world could be news for the public. You must learn to live with it.

Girls suffer most as they often forget who they are. Men fear them because they are usually seen as hard and wild. She is often linked with limited number of real men, with only those in her league flocking around her. If she can only understand where she had come from, fall back to it and still be the ordinary girl she had always wanted to be; the woman who wants to cook meals for her husband and children; the woman who wants to build a home and not the one who has set her sight only on travelling and making money.

Sometimes because of fame, we often think that the only duty of man working and making money. We forget family, friends and happiness; the good thing being that of you succeed and die, everything you ever had will be enjoyed by the same people you never had time for.

People need to think about these and while the managers are prescribing nudity and wild appearances for media attention, just understand that someday, it might become a part of you. If your present is so great, you past will also be, because today is tomorrow’s yesterday.

Don’t live all the fake lives with fake houses and cars; drinking your life out and wishing that people will contribute money for your funeral when you eventually die. Anyone who is seeking fame needs to sit down and ask himself these questions:
“Who am I today?”
“Where am I today?”
“Where am I heading to?”
“Who will I become when I get there?”

Discover the personality that will be great for you and also keep the best people you have ever known around you. Fame is sweet, but understand that the end is mostly filled with fake tributes. Do real good so that you will end up have the real tributes when you’re no longer here.
