Ace Music producer cum artiste Regiz Akagha has blasted Imo State based DJs and On-Air-Personalities for not helping the state’s music industry.

In a statement made through his official Facebook account, Regiz cited that songs by Imo State based artistes are being played in other states while in Owerri one would hardly hear them because the DJs and OAPs have refused to play the songs.

“Go to other neigbouring states, good songs from otown artistes are being played and appreciated by DJs and OAPs, the likes of Kelly Hansome, Ugames, XBusta, YoungKlinch, Regiz, Acharaman and many others, what is wrong with our DJs here? Mehn fuckyall. I don’t care anymore, do your worst after all you’ve not been helpful” He wrote.

This is just one of the many posts and articles on this subject because everyone has come to understand that the DJs and OAPs hold the key to the grassroot success of every artiste or song.

Last year, it was rummoured that the DJs through their association had sectioned some artistes because of individual differences with one of their members and things like this have been going on with only the artistes on the receiving end.

Although, Regiz has made his point, many will still see him as being on his own because they cannot afford to join a top gun like him in a battle when they are sure they cannot afford to lose it.

The question is simple are Imo State based DJs and On-Air-Personalities really backpedalling the development of the music industry in the state?

Can they really be held to an insignificant status for a young artiste?
