As expected, the dedication of the son of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu at the Cathedral of Transfiguration of Lord Jesus Christ Owerri, Imo State on Easter Sunday was full of drama as the governor of Imo was expected to meet with his frontline opponents during the 2015 guber elections for the first time.
Governor Okorocha who won the fierce election met with the former Deputy Speaker of the of Federal House of Representatives and PDP candidate, Rt. Hon, Emeka Ihedioha and former Governor of the state, Chief Ikedi Ohakim with the governor wooing the former during his speech at the church.
He revealed that he never thought he would be seeing or meeting Hon. Ihedioha again, urging the PDP strong man and other politicians at the church service to join him in governing and developing Imo state.
The event also afforded Gov. Okorocha a fresh opportunity to be with his predecessor, Chief Ikedi Ohakim whom had not been seen with for a very long time. The duo were all smiles as they exchanged pleasantries inside the church.
After his speech, Gov. Okorocha also knelt before the alter where Bishop Cyril Okorocha laid his hands on him. It will be recalled that the same Bishop Okorocha was on the news for rejecting a certain amount of money from the governor, urging him to use the said amount to pay the salaries of Imo State civil servants last year.
The dedication of Emmanuel Kamsiriochukwu Iwuanyanwu aside the dramas, brought notable politicians in the state together with the likes of Senator Hope Uzodinma, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, Senator Athan Achonu, Mrs Sam Mbakwe, Chief Ebere Udeagu, Hon Jones Onyereri, and Hon Henry Nwawuba being present at the event.
Others at the event include Hon Ezenwa Onyewuchi, Hon Obinna Egu, Hon Mike Iheanatu, Chief Uche Nwosu, Nze Ken Agbim, Barr Nnamdi Anyaehie, Amb. Kema Chikwe, Prof Nnamdi Obiaraeri and others.
