The retirement sends off ceremony of the retired Owerri District Superintendent, Rev. Mishael Ashiele has taken place at Owerri District Headquarters, Umudibia Nekede Bethel Seminary. The ceremony attracted people from all walks of life with massive turnout of members of the church.

Speaking during the occasion, the general superintendent, assemblies of God, Rev. Dr. Chidi Okoroafor listed three stages in God’s ministers’ life to include years of popularity and years of fading away adding that every position or office has an expiry date.

Rev. Dr Okoroafor emphasized that the ceremony was not the end of Rev. Ashiele’s ministry because there is post retirement ministry pointing out that people should think of what they will be remembered for as well as the impact they are making in the lives of the children of God. He noted that God is looking for faithful servants, adding that Rev. Ashiele deserves the honour as people are pleased with him and urged him to continue with his goodness.

Also speaking, the in-coming District Superintendent, Rev. C.I. Ekwueme (Ph.D) identified Rev. Ashiele as a mentor, very focused man whose ministerial achievements are crowned with glory and in addition to the numerous leadership positions he held and souls won, he directed all his children to the Lord and to the Lord’s business.

Rev. Ekwueme who was the Chairman, Central Planning Committee of the occasion expressed delight that the celebrant and his wife have positively influenced the lives of many and appealed to the members of the church to accord the man succeeding Rev. Ashiele double portion of the respect and co-operation they gave to Rev. Ashiele.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion, Barr. Emma Oduagwu described the occasion as very eventful and successful to the glory of God and wished Rev.Ashiele long life and God’s strength.

Barr. Oduagwu advised members of the church to toe the line of the out-going District Superintendant adding that when one is in good relationship with God, God sees him through.
The first son of the celebrant and General Superintendant, Praise Tabernacle International, Pastor Larry Mishael expressed delight that their father trained them in the fear of God which made them responsible in life and enjoined parents to emulate him.

Responding, Rev. Ashiele thanked God for his mercies, guidance and protection throughout his service period in God’s vineyard and also appreciated all who came to celebrate with him. He pledged to continue to work for the Lord and encouraged other men of God to be steadfast in the Lord.
