Condemning the attack, Engr. Iwuanyanwu said that the recent killings in Enugu State by the Fulani herdsmen was a threat to the Igbo race as well as a threat to the unity and peace of Nigeria.

Engr. Iwuanyanwu averred that if nothing swiftly was done to bring the perpetrators of the killings to book, the hazards of the cattle rearers might destroy Nigeria.

Engr. Iwuanyanwu pointed out that the worst thing you would do to an Igbo man was to beat or kill him in his own house, urging the Federal Government to bring the murderers to justice.

The eminent business man who said that the Fulani herdsmen were acting with impunity flayed President Muhammadu Buhari for not taking proactive measures to avert the killings, even when the information about the attack was earlier reported.

Engr. Iwuanyanwu urged the Federal Government to treat the victims of the Enugu killings the same way it treats the victims of the Boko Haram attacks.
“Our people have been killed, rendered homeless, churches destroyed, many sustained various degrees of injuries. So the Federal Government should treat them the same way it treats the victims of Boko Haram menace. Relief materials and help should be extended to them” he added.

He challenged President Buhari to show leadership prowess and prove that he is the president of all ethnic groups by matching his talks with actions and bringing the herdsmen to book.

Engr. Iwuanyanwu who berated the Federal Government for making no arrests so far said the killers must not be allowed to get away with it.

He added that the dangerous trend was a new one, and the herdsmen were acting with impunity, bearing weapons of mass destruction, meaning that there are more than what meets the eyes.

Chief Iwuanyanwu disclosed that the Igbo farmers are now afraid of going to their farms because of the menace of the Fulani herdsmen, saying that it would lead to poor production year and hunger in the land.

While urging the president to go beyond issuing matching orders to the service chiefs and find a lasting solution to the killings, Engr. Iwuanyanwu appealed to the Igbo youths not to launch a reprisal attack, saying that it would be counterproductive and disintegrate Nigeria.
