The Imo state government will today May 2, launch the Imo State Peace Advocate Corps to the public.
The launching which was earlier scheduled to take place on April 26, 2016, was postponed to enable organizers make adequate preparations for an effective launching ceremony, as well as await the return of Governor Rochas Okorocha from abroad who traveled at that time .

A release from the office of the Special Adviser to Governor Okorocha on Peace and Conflict Resolution, Engr. Peter Ohagwa, signed by one Henry Amadi, stated that, the governor’s overseas business trip principally affected the earlier date, since the governor on whose authority the corps was created, has to be present during the launch.
